Club América’s long and difficult search for a right-winger appears to have finally come to an end.
According to ESPN’s John Sutcliffe and backed by many other sources, the Eagles are set to announce the arrival of Santos Laguna’s Juan Otero this week.
América are set to welcome the 26-year-old Colombian, who has spent the last year at Santos after arriving from France Ligue 1 outfit Amiens.
Despite starting the first two games of the season and going the full 90 minutes, Otero was surprisingly omitted from the Santos starting XI and did not enter the pitch against Necaxa despite falling behind in the second half.
On Tuesday, Otero did not show up to Santos training and it’s expected that he will soon fly to Mexico City in order to undergo a medical and officially sign his contract.
