Without turning down the intensity and already wanting to get back on the pitch, Club América is prepared to close out 2018 in style.

Before the Eagles kick off their 2019 Clausura campaign, the Apertura champions will face 2018 Clausura champions Santos Laguna in a friendly match at Houston’s BBVA Compass Stadium on Saturday, 29 December.

América have the fortune of not having to play during the first round of games, with the opening match of the Clausura set to take place on 4 January.

Instead, the Eagles will start their season on the road at Atlas on 11 January, while Santos Laguna will return to Mexico after Saturday’s friendly to prepare for their opening-round fixture at Lobos.
