Despite retiring only this year, the Italian boss refuses to call it a day. He clearly loves the game so much, that he cannot stay away from it. This will be his third stint with Roma.

Claudio Ranieri has never lifted an honour with Roma. Regardless, he is a club legend there. He has already addressed his lack of silverware in the Italian capital, in a claim which still doesn't read well for Leicester fans.

Claudio Ranieri makes controversial claim about Leicester’s Premier League win

Speaking to the media back in the summer, Claudio Ranieri claimed that he would swap his Premier League title at Leicester City for a Scudetto (Serie A) win at Roma.

In his own words (translated to English), Ranieri said: “Not winning the Scudetto with my Roma, I can say it today: I would’ve gladly exchanged the Leicester title with a Roma Scudetto.”

It might hurt Leicester fans to read this, however, Claudio Ranieri has never kept it a secret that he loves Roma. This is quite obvious, given he began his playing career there and has now managed the side a total of three times.

From Leicester's perspective, the Premier League title which the Italian won is firmly within the hearts of the King Power faithful. While it still feels like a fever dream at times, it will never be taken away from the club's history.

However, fans will hope that Claudio Ranieri achieves his final wish at Roma. The club is 12th in the Serie A standings, so Ranieri faces an uphill battle now. However, it would be completely naive to ever write off Ranieri... Isn't that right, Gary?
