Former Roma manager Claudio Ranieri commented on the club’s sudden decision to sack Daniele De Rossi.
In an interview with Rai Sport, Ranieri did not mince any words.
“His dismissal left me stunned,” said the Italian technician. “He was given a three-year contract so you think it’s a project worth pursuing.”
“You could imagine this project would take time to develop. Instead, sending him away after a few games surprised everyone.”
“It’s unfortunate that there isn’t a football man in Roma who can act as a direct link between the club and the coach.”
“I’m not the one to judge. There are the Friedkins and they are the ones who have to judge whether this person is needed. From the outside we understand that a coach left alone is not enough.”
