City quartet named in England U21 squad for latest EURO 25 qualifiers

City quartet Rico Lewis, Callum Doyle, Taylor Harwood-Bellis and James McAtee have all been included in the England Under-21 squad for this month’s latest UEFA Under-21 EURO 25 qualifiers.

Lewis along with fellow defenders Doyle, who is currently on loan at Championship side Leicester, Harwood-Bellis, who is on a season-long loan at fellow Championship side Southampton and midfielder McAtee, who is spending a second term on loan at Premier League Sheffield United, are part of a 24-strong squad selected by Lee Carsley.

The Young Lions will first travel to Baku to face Azerbaijan Under-21s on Friday, March 22, kick-off 12pm UK.

Carsley’s side, who are the reigning European champions, will then play host to Luxembourg at Bolton’s Toughsheet Community Stadium on Tuesday, March 26, kick-off 7pm (UK).

The England youngsters are currently second in Group F with 12 points from their first five games, three behind leaders Ukraine.
