City in the Community (CITC) marked Anti-Bullying Week last week, with five days of activities and social action.

The charity’s aim was to promote the message that bullying is not, and never will be, the right thing to do, as well as encouraging people to be kind to one another through the #OneKindWord message.

CITC dedicated social content across their channels to the campaign throughout the week, including an Odd Socks Day takeover on Monday 15.

Workshops took place across various schools and programmes for all age groups; educating participants about what bullying is, how it can be prevented and what to do if you are bullied.

CITC reached 4075 participants across 197 sessions in 122 provisions and venues.

Safeguarding Officer, Deborah Glynn, commented: “By supporting campaigns like Anti Bullying week, CITC can raise awareness on a particular issue and help put it at the forefront of peoples mind whilst embedding the messages into our wider work throughout the year.

“Throughout the week, CITC united together to help raise awareness and educate our participants on making a positive difference.

“It was great to see so many staff and participants getting involved in the campaign whether it be wearing odd socks to celebrate our uniqueness, participating in our workshops and activities, displaying our resources.”During the week, staff also created a #BeKind video helping to promote kind words and messages that participants can share with friends, family and peers.

Look out for future CITC safeguarding campaigns across their social media channels.
