Bologna FC 1909 are delighted to announce that Ciro Immobile has joined the Club on a permanent basis.
Born in 1990 and one of the finest strikers of his generation, Ciro follows in the footsteps of some veteran greats who have rolled back the years while at the Rossoblù, such as Baggio, Signori, Gilardino, Di Vaio, and, more recently, Palacio. He has 201 Serie A goals since 2008, making him the league’s leading goalscorer in that time and eighth of all time. He has been crowned Capocannoniere four times and set a record for goals in a single season in 2019/20 (36). Two years before that, he finished the season as the highest scorer in the Europa League.
A right-footed centre-forward who can operate all across the front line, he began his career in Sorrento’s youth system before signing for Juventus. In the following seasons, he broke onto the stage in men’s football at Pescara and then Torino. However, it was at Lazio that he became an icon. With 207 goals in 340 games in all competitions, he is the Biancocelesti’s highest goalscorer of all time. Furthermore, he won the European Golden Shoe in 2019/20, which is awarded to Europe’s leading goalscorers, adjusted for league coefficient.
In his trophy cabinet, Immobile was a Serie B title with Pescara (2011/12), a German Super Cup (in 2014) with Borussia Dortmund, a Coppa Italia (2018/19) and two Italian Super Cups (2017, 2019) with Lazio, and a Turkish Super Cup (2024) with Beşiktaş. He scored 17 goals in 57 caps for Italy, making him the Azzurri’s 16th-highest goalscorer in history, and he was also part of the EURO 2020 winning side.
