Paris Saint-Germain midifelder Christopher Nkunku is thinking about leaving the club.
The 21-year-old is dissatisfied with his opportunities, having started just five Ligue 1 games this season.
“The observation is that the playing time and his place in the rotation aren’t enough,” Nkunku’s agent José Pierre-Farfan explained.
“Christopher is open to leaving in order to develop.
“There’s been no discussion with PSG yet, but in terms of the sporting situation, it’s not enough.
“He needs to step up to the next level and that’s not possible at PSG, especially when he is used in different positions.
Nkunku made five Ligue 1 starts in 2015/16 and six last season.
Now 21, the Frenchman has been used as a right-back, central midfielder and a winger this season and hasn’t found a settled place in the team.
Pierre-Farfan went on to rule out a loan move.
“A loan in Ligue 1, for what? Without being arrogant, we already know that Christopher can play anywhere in Ligue 1.
“There’s no longer a path to progress. This is about whether he can move up to the next level and settle at a club that plays in Europe.”
The player’s representative went on to say there is interest in the player from Spain and England.
With Adrien Rabiot set to leave, PSG bosses will be frustrated to see another homegrown player on the move. But, unless he plays more regularly in the second half of the season, that looks increasingly likely.
