Christian Eriksen’s performance for Inter against Fiorentina yesterday has proved the Danish midfielder is a quicker player than most think, according to Italian journalist and Nerazzurri fan Fabrizio Biasin.

Eriksen was deployed in the unfamiliar role of regista in yesterday’s Coppa Italia win over the Viola and the Denmark international has often been accused of being too slow on the pitch.

Highlighting player data from Wednesday’s match, Biasin has pointed out that Eriksen is anything but slow.

In fact, the 28-year-old covered more ground than any other Inter player did yesterday, with only Nicolo Barella running faster and only Achraf Hakimi sprinting further at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

This season Eriksen has made 14 appearances across all competitions to date but the former Tottenham Hotspur player, who has been heavily linked with a departure from Inter, has not managed to make any goal contributions.

Biasin took to Twitter and posted: “In my useless crusade to see Eriksen get more appearances for Inter (he needs to earn them, mind you) it seems only right to dispel a few urban myths such as: “the Dane is slow.”

“Yeah, right.”
