Chivas manager Marcelo Michel Leaño will have to adjust his plans once again ahead of Saturday’s clash with Querétaro.
The rojiblancos released a statement on Thursday confirming that one of their players, believed to be Antonio Briseño, has tested positive for Covid-19.
“The person in question was immediately isolated and is already receiving due medical follow-up in accordance with the health protocols established by Chivas and Liga MX,” the statement said.
Roberto Alvarado, Luis Olivas, Hiram Mier, Fernando Beltrán, and now Briseño, reportedly, have all tested positive for Covid-19 so far just a couple of weeks into the season.
Should the player in question test negative on Friday, he will be able to play this weekend.
The subsidiary team of Chivas, Tapatío, have recorded seven positive cases themselves this week.
