🚨 Chivas defeat Necaxa with late Miguel Ángel Ponce goal

Chivas have finished their regular season on 26 points after tonight’s 1-0 win over Necaxa, meaning they can now relax and wait to see who their opponents will be for the play-off stage as they cannot make the top four.

As for Necaxa, they have finished on 23 points and could potentially be one of Chivas’ opponents should the results play out.

Though there was not a lot of action in this one, Miguel Ángel Ponce played the role of hero for the visitors, heading home a corner kick in the 89th minute to give Chivas all three points.

Interestingly enough, Ponce spent a year in Aguascalientes and pays them back by scoring for just the 13th time in his lengthy career.

Miguel Jiménez also played well in the victory, making three saves en route to a clean sheet.
