According to the Mexican club, the two sides ‘will share practices for the growth of their talent on and off the field at various levels, as well as in commercial work.’
The agreement was signed for two years and will allow for the exchange of players and coaches at youth levels as well as international experience.
The two teams will also agree to participate in activities in both Mexico and the United States, including friendly matches between both senior and youth teams.
PSV Eindhoven and Chivas will have access to the knowledge, methodology, and practices that occur in the youth squads. They will also share brand and business strategies so that the two clubs can improve in these segments.
Amaury Vergara was thrilled and released a statement after reaching an agreement with the Dutch team.
“The fact that this agreement takes place at the beginning of this new Chivas era is very special for us, especially because it is PSV, a unique club with a lot of tradition, the most Mexican team in Europe.
“We want to join forces with clubs who we can identify with, with whom we share strong values, and who want to build together in search of a better future for both institutions.
“This is a great opportunity for mutual growth. As we know it, we will be with PSV from here on out.”
Some notable Mexicans that have passed through PSV include Carlos Salcido, Francisco Rodríguez, Andrés Guardado, and Hirving Lozano.
Érick Gutiérrez and Mexican-American Richard Ledezma are currently with PSV, who are currently ranked second in the Eredivisie and are in the Uefa Europa Conference League knockout stage.
