Alessandro Bastoni celebrated like he had scored a goal when he won a duel with Weston McKennie on Sunday night, while Federico Chiesa and Dusan Vlahovic stormed off the pitch after the final whistle at San Siro. Here are three InterJuventus things you didn’t see on TV.

Inter beat their rivals Juventus 1-0 on Sunday, moving four points clear of the Bianconeri at the top of the Serie A table with a game in hand.

Federico Gatti’s own goal in the first half helped Inter take all three points, but there’s something you missed by watching the game on TV last night, so Football Italia brings you three things you didn’t see.

Fans

The rivalry between Inter and Juventus is probably the biggest one in Italian football. Undoubtedly, the Nerazzurri are Juventus’ harshest rivals so ordinary fans and ultras always take centre stage in their meetings. Inter ultras trolled the Bianconeri before kick-off by unveiling several banners in the Curva Nord mentioning the recent controversies that involved the Turin-based club. From Luis Suarez’s exam for Italian citizenship to this season’s European ban. Another supporter brought a banner outside the stadium to mock Allegri who had compared Juventus to Jannik Sinner and the experienced Inter to Novak Djokovic. ‘Dear Allegri, Sinner does win the finals,’ the banner read.

Bastoni

The Italy international was undoubtedly among the best players on the pitch last night and there was a moment that perfectly highlighted his performance and spirit. Halfway through the second half, Bastoni sprinted down the left flank to get on the ball before McKennie. If Juventus had won possession, they would have been in numerical advantage close to Inter’s box, but Bastoni sent the ball over the touchline and celebrated like he had scored a goal. The Italian defender clenched his fists and shouted towards the main stand at San Siro, coincidentally right in front of some Juventus reserves who were warming up.

Chiesa and Vlahovic

Chiesa and Vlahovic were fuming after the final whistle and immediately left the pitch at the end of the game. Both strikers made their way to the tunnel keeping their heads down and ignoring teammates who tried to cheer them up. Other Juventus players remained on the pitch and waved at the over 5,000 away supporters while Inter players celebrated with their fans on the other half of the field. Max Allegri admitted after the game that his players were angry but insisted the Bianconeri have not been built to win the title this season.
