HLN are reporting that Antwerp are set to announce the signing of Nigerian winger Chidera Ejuke from CSKA Moscow. The 25-year-old will join for free, taking advantage of the war situation after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Ejuke, who was highly rated during his time in Russia, spent last season on loan at Hertha Berlin. In 20 Bundesliga games he provided three assist but failed to score.

Ejuke’s first foray into European football came in Norway with Vålerenga. He played 69 games for the Oslo based side, scoring 15 goals and providing six assists. SC Heerenveen then signed the player from Norway. During his time in the Eredevisie, Ejuka played just one season, scoring nine goals and providing another six assists in 29 matches. CSKA then spent a few million Euros to bring the Nigerian to Russia. Prior to the war, he scored 10 goals for CSKA and provided eight assists.

Antwerp will be hoping that they can get the best version of Ejuke, rather than the one that played for a struggling Hertha side.
