Chelsea's valuation of Armando Broja emerges amid Ipswich Town interest

Wolverhampton Wanderers are keen on a move for Chelsea forward Armando Broja, according to Give Me Sport.

The Midlands club are seemingly desperate to improve their striker department this summer, something that doesn't come as a surprise considering Matheus Cunha could be the subject of considerable interest in the coming months.

Southampton striker Che Adams is already believed to be on their radar - and they may have a good chance of signing him considering his contract at St Mary's expires at the end of the season.

The Saints may be hoping that promotion to the Premier League could boost their chances of retaining the Scotland international, but a return to the Midlands could appeal to the 27-year-old.

And it looks as though Gary O'Neil's side will end up securing the player's signature ahead of other teams, which is a boost for the former AFC Bournemouth boss.

Give Me Sport believes Wolves will target the forward position regardless of whether they sign Adams, which could lead them to pursue Broja in the coming months.

22-year-old Broja hasn't been able to thrive that much after recovering from a serious knee injury that he sustained last season, but he previously did well with Vitesse and Southampton.

Having been loaned out by his parent club again last term, it may only be a matter of time before he's sold if he isn't part of Mauricio Pochettino's plans.

The Blues have spent a huge amount under their current owner in recent years - and could balance the books by cashing in on the Albania international.

Give Me Sport has revealed that Wolves are now in the mix for Broja, along with Ipswich Town and Brentford, with Simon Phillips reporting the latter two's interest.

The Tractor Boys could be in a better position to recruit the player following their promotion, but they look set to face huge competition with Borussia Dortmund also being heavily linked.

However, he will reportedly cost around £35m if any team wants to lure him away from Stamford Bridge.

And at the moment, Wolves aren't willing to fork out that much.

Ipswich Town shouldn't look to sign Armando Broja permanently

Ipswich can't afford to fork out £35m on a single player, with a number of areas needing to be addressed.

The full-back department could require more depth and the centre-back department may need an injection of quality to improve their chances of securing survival at the end of next season.

The midfield also needs more depth and quality, with Lewis Travis departing and a longer-term alternative needed to the likes of Sam Morsy and Massimo Luongo.

Bringing in a replacement for Omari Hutchinson should also be a priority, with his 11 goals and six assists in all competitions during the 2023/24 campaign making a real difference for the Tractor Boys.

The striker area desperately needs addressing, but spending £35m on one player just isn't viable considering the amount of work that needs to be done at Portman Road this summer.
