Last week saw Chelsea’s young players back at Cobham, next came the non-international senior players over the weekend.

Thomas Tuchel was back yesterday, and today we’ve seen the first of the internationals back – namely the man himself, N’Golo Kante.

Each passing season has seen the France midfielder pick up more minor injuries, and more importantly, has seemed to increase how many many minutes after each return it takes him to get back to his best.

He left the France squad after the first round of Nations League games after picking up yet another niggle, which explains why he’s back before the other internationals.

Hopefully this will give him a good chance of building up plenty of resilience for the season to come – we need him fit for most of the campaign if we want a chance of winning anything.
