Chelsea’s likely to miss one of their two South American superstars for next Premier League game

The downside for Chelsea in having two central midfielders from South America is that each international break becomes a huge stress over how much travelling they’re doing and how many minutes they’re accumulating.

Moises Caicedo has been given a lucky break this time. He didn’t play a minute for Ecuador in their win over Guatemala, and even if he plays against Italy on Sunday, he then has a full week to travel back from the USA (where the Ecuador games are taking place) and get ready for our match next weekend.

Whether he plays 0 minutes or 90 against Italy, he looks certain to start against Burnley next Saturday.

Sadly Enzo Fernandez is on the other end of the scale. They played El Salvador at midnight last night, and then face Costa Rica on Wednesday night at 3am GMT.

Unless he’s allowed to leave Argentina’s camp early, he will only be getting back to the UK on Thursday or Friday, and surely won’t be ready to start on Saturday.
