According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Bento Matheus Krepski’s move to Inter from Athletico Paranaense is ‘no longer certain’ as Chelsea has joined the race to sign the Brazil international.

Multiple sources in Italy have recently reported that the Nerazzurri were close to signing Brazilian keeper Bento for circa €15m.

However, the latest report from Gazzetta dello Sport claims Chelsea’s interest in the 24-year-old has changed the scenario for the Nerazzurri.

Until a few weeks ago, Inter led the race to sign Bento at the end of the season, as the Brazil international had only attracted interest from smaller Premier League clubs like Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton.

Now that the Blues have also targeted the 24-year-old, Inter fear Athletico Paranaense will receive a higher offer and that the Brazilian goalkeeper will be tempted to move to Stamford Bridge.

Inter are planning to make Bento their second-choice keeper in 2024-25, allowing him to learn from Yann Sommer and potentially become a regular starter in the long run.
