Jason Cundy admits he would sign Southampton keeper Aaron Ramsdale if he was currently at Chelsea.
All Southampton fans can agree, this 2024/25 season has been not just disappointing, but painfully bland. Loss after loss, defeat after defeat, this season has felt nothing short of devastating.
In fact, arguably, the 2024 summer window was the last instance the Saints fans were actually full of enthusiasm.
Positively, the ongoing dull scenarios are to change soon in the upcoming transfer event again. And we all know why, while stars like Tyler Dibling, Walker-Peters, and others could be on their way out, Southampton would surely attempt some marquee signings as well.
But what many might not realize is that a Saints player could be on the verge of a historic transfer.
We talk of Southampton keeper Aaron Ramsdale, who could be the first club player to cross the infamous London divide.
Now, Chelsea's links to the ex-Arsenal man were already there, but pundit Jason Cundy's latest claim has only fueled the speculation further.
Recently, speaking to TalkSport, the former Blues academy graduate pinpointed the club's season prolonging keeping issues. Interestingly, further, Cundy made a bold statement that would make every Saints fan happy momentarily.
As quoted by the Metro, Cundy mentioned: "I would definitely have Ramsdale. That's an improvement. Clearly, the goalkeeper situation has been a bit of a disaster. There's been a lot of goals and mistakes."
Now, some of you might feel Ramsdale's departure would hit Southampton hard, but what if I tell you otherwise? Sounds strange, but this is the positive truth.
This is because Southampton have their verdict clear, and Bazunu is to lead the keeping spot again. So, don't you think in a suitor like Chelsea, Southampton has their chances of a hefty deal multiplied?
