Chelsea 'targeting' Stuttgart left-back Borna Sosa | OneFootball

Chelsea are reportedly stepping up their search for a new left-back to cover for the injured Ben Chilwell who suffered a season-ending rupture of his cruciate ligament.

The Blues unsuccessfully attempted to recall Emerson Palmieri from his loan spell with Lyon, and (according to Sky Deutschland) they have now set their sights on Stuttgart left-back Borna Sosa.

The 24-year-old Croatia international is an integral part of the VfB side battling relegation in the Bundesliga, and Sky believe Chelsea would have to spend €30m to pry him from the Baden-Württemberg outfit.

Sosa, who is under contract until 2025, has also been attracting interest from Inter Milan as well as Aston Villa before they completed the purchase of Lucas Digne from Everton.

Marcos Alonso is currently the only fit senior left-back at Thomas Tuchel’s disposal as Chelsea prepare to face Tottenham on Sunday.
