Chelsea struck late to secure a 1-1 draw Inter at Stamford Bridge to finish their haphazard pre-season on a high note.
Scorers: Thuram 25ā²
In what was Enzo Marescaās first game at the Bridge, he named new signings Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Marc Guiu in the lineup, and they combined for the first chance of the game.
Dewsbury-Hall laid the ball off to the young Spanish striker, whose volley popped up and was smartly tipped over by Yann Sommer.
Despite some nice play from the Blues, it was Inter who took the lead in the 25th minute with a very well-worked goal. Yann Aurel Bisseck made a lovely run from defence and played the ball to Ćngel Correa.
The Argentine played in Marcus Thuram, who finished brilliantly past Robert SƔnchez.
Sommer came to Interās rescue again before the break, saving once more from Guiu, who reacted quickly to Marc Cucurellaās mishit volley.
Half-time saw Chelseaās latest signing confirmed as Pedro Neto was unveiled on the Stamford Bridge pitch.
After the break, the Blues twice came within inches of equalising, Christopher Nkunku having a bicycle kick parried away before Levi Colwill hit the post from a narrow angle.
Mikhailo Mudryk was the next to come close, putting the ball agonisingly wide of the post after being teed up by Nkunku.
Chelsea finally levelled things up in the final minute, Lesley Ugochukwu volleying home after Cole Palmerās free-kick was only half cleared.
It was the least they deserved and ensured Marescaās home debut ended on a high.
Next up is Manchester City and his mentor Pep Guardiola in what could be the game of the opening weekend of the Premier League season.
