Another major talent is set to play in the Women’s Super League next season as Catarina Macario is in the middle of a switch to England.
According to The Athletic, the current Olympique Lyonnais player will join Emma Hayes’ Chelsea “subject to medical clearance.”
In her first season in France, the 23-year-old attacking midfielder helped her club win the Division 1 Feminine and Champions League titles with a team-leading 23 goals.
That includes becoming the first American to score in the Champions League final.

However, an ACL tear has seen the United States Women’s National Team starlet (eight goals and two assists in 17 games) miss the entirety of the 2022-23 season.
A move to Chelsea means Macario would be fighting for playing time alongside Guro Reiten, Pernille Harder, Erin Cuthbert and others while she continues her recovery.
Her arrival would also see Chelsea call upon another big star next season in their aim to win Europe’s ultimate prize.
