Denzel Dumfries could leave Inter Milan during the summer transfer window, with Chelsea previously linked with the Dutchman.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter are ready to make at least one or two big sales during the summer transfer window.

Whilst the financial situation is not quite the same as it had been in previous summers when the Nerazzurri have been forced to make a net profit in the transfer market, they are still in a situation where they will have to sell to buy.

In other words, Inter will have to cash in on one or two senior players if they are to make any big signings.

The Nerazzurri do have a number of targets in mind. This will necessitate making a sale to fund any incomings.

And, according to the Gazzetta, one player who could head for the exit door is former PSV wingback Dumfries.

Inter Milan Could Cash In On Denzel Dumfries This Summer

Reports have named Dumfries as a player who could leave Inter for the past couple of transfer windows.

Chelsea are reportedly admirers of the Dutchman. The Blues have shown interest both last summer, and during the January window of the season just gone.

In the end, Dumfries stayed put in each of the two windows. No offers meeting Inter’s valuation for the wingback arrived.

However, the Gazzetta report, the 27-year-old would be a real candidate for a sale during this summer window.

Dumfris joined Inter from PSV during the summer of 2021. He arrived as a replacement for Achraf Hakimi, who had left to join Paris Saint-Germain in a big money deal.

Dumfries has made 96 appearances for Inter in all competitions since joining. This included a start in the Champions League final against Manchester City last weekend.
