Chelsea are reportedly making a late move to land Brentford striker Ivan Toney.

Strongly linked with a transfer this summer and having been expected to leave the Bees, the England international has played no part in his side’s opening two fixtures of the season.

Sky Sports now report that the Blues have made contract with Brentford over a move before the transfer window closes.

Chelsea have been keen to add a proven goalscorer to their attack as their first choice striker, with Victor Osimhen previously linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

The potential fee for the 28-year-old is said to be ‘reasonable’, with the Standard claiming that they have dropped their asking price from £50m to closer to £40m.

Toney does have an enticing offer from Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia on the table but would lean towards remaining in the Premier League.
