More Women’s FA Cup action took place on Sunday with teams keen to book their spot in the semi-finals.
Here is what went down.
Scorers: Eriksson 45′, Spence 55′, England 62′, 72′, Charles 65′
Reigning champions Chelsea put on a dominant display at Kingsmeadow as they beat Birmingham City 5-0.
The visitors did enough to keep the scoreline down throughout the first half after they shut down 12 attempts from the hosts but once Emma Hayes’ side found their footing there was no stopping them.
Sophie Ingle’s header dropped in front of Magdalena Eriksson just before the break and the captain’s header went past Marie Hourihan for the breakthrough.
The flood gates then opened for the hosts as the visitors struggled to keep them tame.
Drew Spence, Niamh Charles and Beth England were at the top of their game throughout the second half and caused all sorts of headaches for Birmingham City.
The trio thus helped the hosts wrap things up 5-0 by the full-time whistle which included a stunning link-up for the third goal.
Scorers: Hemp 35′, 48′, Weir 61′, White 90+2′
It was one-way traffic at Academy Stadium as Manchester City knocked Everton out after a 4-0 win.
The hosts made their presence known right from start as Lucy Bronze and Jess Park led the attack but lacked a scoring touch in and around the box.
That was until Ellen White’s header found the foot of a lurking Lauren Hemp who bundled the ball past Sandy MacIver for the opener.
City then looked to rid themselves of their poor finishing and did so immediately after they entered the second half with Everton unable to click into gear.
A second from Hemp continued her good form and a long-range effort from Caroline Weir brought the tally to three before White added another at the death.
Scorers: Evans 32′
Despite having complete control of the match at Goldstar Ground, West Ham scraped into the semi-finals after a slim 1-0 victory over Ipswich Town.
A strong defensive performance from the hosts was key in the first half as the visitors tested the likes of Sarah Quantrill with multiple efforts.
The eventual winner, however, came at the hands of Lisa Evans when she rounded the goalkeeper and slotted home just before the break.
After half-time, West Ham continued to pepper the hosts with chances but strong defending from Ipswich kept things a one-goal game seeing them just fall short of reaching the next round.
Arsenal also booked a semi-final spot following their 4-0 win over Coventry United on Friday.
