Chelsea have no plans to sell Josh Acheampong despite rumoured interest from Borussia Dortmund.

Acheampong has been named as a potential transfer target for Dortmund, who have a recent history of acquiring promising English talent.

The 19-year-old made 13 appearances in all competitions last season, featuring prominently during the club’s run to Europa Conference League success.

Enzo Maresca was full of praise for the teenager following his first Premier League start in January.

Brought in amid the club’s depleted defensive options, Maresca hailed Acheampong as ‘the best player on the pitch’ after the club’s 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Chelsea value the versatile defender highly and journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed that any approaches will be turned down. Acheampong signed a new contract with Chelsea in December 2024.

The West Londoners view Acheampong as part of their long-term plans, despite the incentive of selling academy products for Premier League Profit and Sustainability purposes.

Chelsea have sold academy graduates including Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Conor Gallagher and Mason Mount for significant sums across the last two summer transfer windows.
