Chelsea have reportedly held talks with Lille’s Luis Campos about becoming their sporting director from next season.
A story in France Football has claimed that the Blues have been in contact with the Portuguese talent-spotter as they look to fill the void left by Michael Emenalo over a year ago.
Emenalo left Stamford Bridge to join Monaco in 2017 with club director Marina Granovskaia overseeing their transfer policy over the past 18 months.
However, the west London club have been hunting for a a genuine sporting director ever since as they look to restructure ahead of a potential transfer ban.
Chelsea have appealed Fifa’s decision and the process, even if unsuccessful, is expected to begin after the summer window – meaning the Premier League club will have one window to make some all-important signings.
Campos was originally at Monaco and is the man responsible for signing Bernardo Silva, Benjamin Mendy and Kylian Mbappé.
Chelsea have already been in contact with Campos about taking over at the end of the season but France Football say they could face competition from Manchester United.
