Chelsea are interested in Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo.

The Uruguay international has a deal to 2023 and Barca are set to open talks about a new deal.

However, Mundo Deportivo says Araujo's agents are fielding interest from Premier League clubs, including from Chelsea.

With Toni Rüdiger, Andreas Christiansen, Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpilicueta all off contract in June, Chelsea are drawing up contingency plans, which include an approach for Araujo.

For the moment, Araujo's priority is Barcelona. The central defender is very comfortable at Barça and in Barcelona, where his first daughter was born last month.
