Hansi Flick wants transfer-linked Barcelona star to stay for next season | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick is eager for a transfer-linked member of his squad to stay put through the summer and beyond.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who highlight Ronald Araújo as the player in question.

The subject of Araújo’s future in Catalunya’s capital has of course reemerged as a prominent talking point over recent months.

This comes for a number of reasons.

First, the Uruguayan is fresh off a difficult close to the campaign, which saw him come under heavy fire for the level of his performances.

In addition, Barca sporting director Deco recently admitted that one member of the club’s central defensive core will be sold this summer.

Not only that, but Araújo’s release clause is due to be reduced to €65 million momentarily in July.

As a result, speculation pointing towards a potential exit for the 26-year-old has ramped up in a major way of late.

As alluded to above, though, one individual in no two minds when it comes to his plans for Araújo is Blaugrana headmaster Hansi Flick.

Still a firm believer in the talents boasted by the stopper, Sport confirm that:

‘Barça are in need of an important sale but Hansi Flick wants him (Araújo) to stay.’
