Speaking on the latest edition of the London is Blue podcast, The Telegraph’s Matt Law stated that Chelsea have set their sights on Strasbourg centre-forward Emanuel Emegha. Law said,

“I was told by someone who works around the Strasbourg end of things that they believe this guy could one day be a €50m-plus striker. I think Chelsea may be looking to do an early deal to get him in now, at a fair market value.

“Because if you do it now, you can probably get him for around—I’m guessing here—€25m (£22m). If you wait another year, you might be looking at something closer to €40m (£35m).”

Emegha’s Impressive Form In French Football

Emegha enjoyed a good run of form at the French club in the previous campaign after he put in a string of impressive displays as the focal point of their attack. The Dutch talent banged in 14 goals and earned three assists in 29 matches for Strasbourg last season in all competitions.

His current contract at the French club will run out in the summer of 2028. Hence, Chelsea would have to make a convincing offer if they are serious about recruiting Emegha this off-season.

What Will Emegha Add To Chelsea Boss Enzo Maresca’s Side?

Emegha is proficient at finding some space for himself to get some strikes in on target. He can engineer the odd chance for his teammates in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.

The Dutch sensation can even use his strong 1.96m frame to dominate the opposition defenders in the air. However, there are some concerns over whether he can maintain his good form in the Premier League if Chelsea manage to land him this summer.

We can expect Emegha to add a lot of physicality and firepower to Enzo Maresca’s attack. He is good enough to serve as an ideal replacement for Nicolas Jackson at the West London club.

At 22, Emegha has the potential to be a world-class player in his position someday. He might help the Blues compete across all fronts in the coming seasons. With all things considered, the Dutch forward would be a great addition to Chelsea’s squad in the long run.
