Chelsea show interest in MIchael Olise and Elye Wahi.

According to reports, Chelsea have submitted ‘official bids’ for Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise and Montpellier forward Elye Wahi.

Olise was a breakout star in the Premier League last season as he was one of Crystal Palace’s best players. He grabbed two goals and 11 assists in the league to help Roy Hodgson’s side move clear of the relegation zone.

The former Reading youngster has caught the attention of clubs around Europe and it is anticipated that he could leave Crystal Palace in the coming weeks.

Palace are not keen to let Olise leave following Wilfried Zaha’s move to Galatasaray but their hand may be forced as there is a £35m release clause in his current contract.

Journalist Fabrice Hawkins has now revealed via Twitter that Chelsea have made a €30m (around £25m) ‘verbal offer’ for Olise as they are ‘waiting to hear more about the progress of his injury before making a written offer’.

Given that Olise’s release clause is £35m (€40m), Chelsea will have to up their bid if they are to sign the forward from their Premier League rivals.

The Blues have already spent significant fees to sign Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku from Villarreal and RB Leipzig respectively.

Chelsea are not standing still, though. They remain in the market for more attacking reinforcements after they only scored 38 Premier League goals last season.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are being linked with Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic but Montpellier starlet Wahi has emerged as an alternative target.

Wahi – who is on Tottenham’s radar as a potential replacement for Harry Kane – grabbed 19 goals and five assists for Montpellier in Ligue Un last season.

Regarding the striker, Hawkins has added that ‘Chelsea, Fulham, West Ham and Eintracht Frankfurt are interested’ in him.

Frankfurt are ‘insisting’ on signing him but Chelsea have ‘made their first offer’ which is worth ’30 million euros including bonus’ but Montpellier are said to ‘want’ 40 million euros for their prized asset.

Chelsea have already bought Lesley Ugochukwu and Axel Disasi from Ligue Un this summer.

Disasi has been signed after Wesley Fofana suffered *another* serious injury and the former Monaco star is hoping to “achieve very big things” at Chelsea.

“I am so happy to be here, at this big club. I am really proud to be able to be a part of this great family, and I hope to achieve very big things here. To win titles,” Disasi said.

“I will do everything I can to achieve those objectives. I am very ambitious.

“It’s a club that has been very popular for French players because they have all done well here – (Frank) Leboeuf, (Marcel) Desailly, (Nicolas) Anelka, (N’Golo) Kante, (Olivier) Giroud. And the colour is blue like the national team! It’s good.

“It’s a familiar club for French people, and I hope all the French players here now can join that line of great players.”
