Chelsea will take a healthy lead back to London after the first of two legs in their Europa Conference League quarter-final with Legia Warszawa.
Scorers: George 49', Madueke 57', 74'
Legia made it mighty difficult for the Blues in the early going, buoyed by their raucous home support, but the hosts rarely looked a threat to Filip Jörgensen's goal.
Enzo Maresca's side may have carved out a handful of chances in transition before the break, but the final pass consistently went awry for the attacking quartet in blue.
It took until after the break for the Premier League outfit to take control as they were expected to do, and the opener came from the unlikely source of Tyrique George, as the teenager opened his Chelsea account by sweeping home a rebound.
Half-time substitute Noni Madueke joined the party less than 10 minutes later by doubling Chelsea's lead and drastically swinging the complexion of the tie in favour of the visitors from London.
The doors were blown off the tie in the final 20 minutes when Madueke bagged his second only a matter of moments after Christopher Nkunku saw a penalty saved by the Legia keeper.
The Blues will be more than content with a three-goal advantage to take back to London for the second-leg, and will now turn their attention back to the hotly-contested top-five race in the Premier League.
