Chelsea doubled Barcelona’s salary offer to land Jules Kounde

This has really been the summer of Twitch becoming the source of quite a lot of transfer news, and we’re seeing that nowhere more than with Gerard Romero, the Barcelona insider who has his own daily show on the platform where he speaks very openly about moves involving the Catalan club.

Today it’s all about the signings they’re not making however. In this case, Jules Kounde is the centre of attention for the insider.

In a moment picked up in the show by Barca Universal, Romero claimed that Chelsea have doubled the €6m salary offered by Barcelona, securing Kounde’s arrival despite his preference for a move to the Nou Camp.

That’s probably a blessing in disguise for Joan Laporta and co. The last thing they need is to be signing more players right now, as they continue to mortgage the future of the club to buy more assets in this window.
