Chelsea are considering breaking contract policy to secure skipper Cesar Azpilicueta to a new contract.
The Daily Star says Chelsea are weighing up whether to break their over-30s rule to keep Azpilicueta at the club.
The Blues usually enforce a strict policy of not offering more than one-year contracts to players in that age bracket.
But Azpilicueta, who captained the club to Champions League glory last season, wants a two-year deal to stay.
The 32-year-old's current contract expires this summer - and he is in demand with both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid trying to sign him.
Barca have already him offered a two-year contract with an option to extend and believe they can win the race to sign him as a free agent next summer.
Atletico are even willing to pay a fee to bring him in before the transfer window shuts this month, but it is understood Chelsea have no intention of letting that happen.
