Chelsea backed Racing Strasbourg interested in Club Brugge defender Abakar Sylla | OneFootball

Sacha Tavolieri is reporting that Racing Strasbourg are in discussion with Club Brugge over the signing of Ivorian 20-year-old defender Abakar Sylla. Elsewhere, it had been reported that Club Brugge are looking for €20m for their young central defender. Strasbourg recently became the first team in what looks set to become a new multi-club project headed by Chelsea.

Strasbourg are not the only side interested in the defender. RB Leipzig are also one of the teams that are looking into signing Sylla.

The 20-year-old Ivorian joined Club Brugge from SO Armée €200k in September 2021. Sylla broke into the first team this season after the departure of Stanley Nsoki to Hoffenheim. After making just one appearance during the 2021/2022 campaign, the defender made 27 in all competitions, including starting the majority of the sides Champions League matches.

Should Sylla leave, Club Brugge will certainly need to look to bring in another central defender.
