Back from his loan spell at Aston Villa, Axel Disasi may not remain at Chelsea for the upcoming season.

According to CaughtOffside, the Blues have opened talks with Newcastle over a potential transfer for the French centre-back. At 27 years old, Disasi is under contract with Chelsea until 2029. The London club is aiming to recoup €35 million, while the Magpies are looking to bring the price down to €30 million.

The Magpies' management are particularly impressed by his physical presence, experience, and solidity at the heart of the defense. Signed in 2023 from Monaco for €45 million, Disasi made an instant impact by scoring in his very first Premier League match against Liverpool (1-1). A French international, he featured at the 2022 World Cup, making his debut for Les Bleus against Tunisia.
