In a recent report, Globo Esporte stated that Chelsea are among clubs hoping to recruit Palmeiras whizkid Endrick. It has been mentioned that the Blues are prepared to rival Real Madrid in the race to land the Brazilian whizkid.

Endrick’s Excellent Rise In Brazilian Football

Endrick has come through the youth ranks of Palmeiras and has firmly established himself as a key member of their senior squad. The Brasilia-born talent has registered nine goals and one assist in 14 matches for the Brazilian side this season across all competitions.

The 16-year-old has caught the eye by averaging 2.0 shots, 0.7 key passes and 0.6 dribbles per 90 minutes in Brasileiro. However, he needs to find a way to improve his ball distribution after completing 73.3% of his attempted passes in the top tier of Brazilian football (stats via whoscored).

Endrick’s current contract at the Brazilian club is set to run out in the summer of 2025. Hence, the Blues will have to make a big offer if they want to beat Real Madrid and win the race to recruit the Brazilian centre-forward next year.

Chelsea Remain Eager To Sign Endrick: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Endrick excels at engineering space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal. He can also make some decent runs with the ball toward the opponent’s penalty area and is a technically gifted footballer. The Brazilian prospect can even orchestrate a few meaningful chances for his teammates in the final third. However, he is still quite inexperienced at the highest level and would need time to settle into life in English football if Chelsea manage to bring him on board in 2023.

Endrick is primarily a centre-forward but can also play as a wide player on either flank if his manager asks him to do so. There is no doubt that the South American striker is a gifted talent and would increase competition for places within Graham Potter‘s match-day squad.

Endrick would even serve as an ideal, long-term replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who has struggled to prove his worth at the West London club. At 16, he is still quite raw and won’t be guaranteed a regular starting spot at Stamford Bridge.

Still, Chelsea would be wise to try everything they can to sign him as he could prove himself to be a success story in the long run. Endrick is undeniably a prospect to watch out for in the coming seasons which makes him a good option for Potter to pursue next year.
