Châteauroux set to be sold by Saudi owners | OneFootball

According to L’Équipe, National club Châteauroux are set to be sold by their current Saudi owners and sold to the French businessman Benjamin Gufflet. The third division were purchased by the Saudi Prince Abdallah ben Moussaed in March 2021 when the club were in Ligue 2.

The Saudi investment fund United World, who also own Premier League club Sheffield United, have entered into negotiations with Gufflet’s holding company Stratton Oakmont Sports. The French business owner is also the president of US Dax – a second-tier rugby club in France.

After fanfare upon their arrival and relegation to the French third tier, Châteauroux’s reign of Saudi ownership appears to be in its final stages. However, before any takeover deal is completed, Gufflet will have to make assurances to the LFP of his financial plans for the Berrichone club. Châteauroux currently sit in fourteenth place in the Championnat National after an 11th-placed finish last season.
