Chancel Mbemba facing dismissal after breakdown in relationship with Marseille | OneFootball

According to L’Équipe, Chancel Mbemba (30) has been called to an interview by Olympique de Marseille. This is after the centre back refused to arrive at two medical appointments following his return from DR Congo after the summer break.

The subject of the interview is expected to be understanding why the former Newcastle United defender missed these scheduled medical appointments and a sanction as a result of the missed appointments. This sanction could lead to the Congolese international centre-back’s dismissal from the club. Mbemba has been declared surplus to requirements at OM by Roberto De Zerbi.

Distrust in fitness staff

Mbemba has missed the two medical appointments as he has developed a distrust in the medical department at Marseille. The 30-year-old defender considers himself to be fit after representing his country but the fitness staff at Les Phocéens want to check on a potential knee injury which was sustained in April.
