The local Senegal team concluded their preparations for the 2024 African Nations Championship with back-to-back defeats, losing to Uganda on July 24 (2-1) and then to Tanzania this Sunday, July 27 (2-1) at Karatu Stadium.

The Teranga local Lions are gearing up to defend their title at CHAN 2024, scheduled from August 2 to 30 and co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. Just days before the competition kicks off, the Senegalese side suffered two friendly losses to host nations Uganda and Tanzania, both by the same scoreline: 2 goals to 1.

These disappointing results come less than a week before the tournament, but they allowed head coach Souleymane Diallo to experiment with different player profiles and fine-tune the final tactical adjustments. The squad was rotated across both matches, giving the coaching staff an opportunity to assess players in real match conditions.
