CHAN 2024: DR Congo with their backs against the wall against Zambia
Defeated by Kenya in their opening match (1-0), the DR Congo Leopards are out of options. This Thursday, August 7, they face Zambia at Nairobi's Nyayo Stadium with no room for error—they must respond.
Head coach Otis Ngoma admitted: "We missed too many chances against Kenya. We absolutely have to bounce back." Attacking efficiency, the Achilles' heel from their first game, will be at the heart of DR Congo's concerns.
On the other side, Avram Grant's Zambia—led by the former Chelsea and Ghana manager—step into the tournament for their debut. His objective is crystal clear: to lay the foundations of a competitive squad. "It's a great opportunity for our players. We're banking on our strengths above all," he stated.
The stage is set for a tense showdown: on one side, a wounded but experienced DR Congo; on the other, an ambitious and well-prepared Zambia. Will this be DR Congo's redemption match, or the perfect start for Zambia? All will be revealed tonight in Nairobi.
