Former Chelsea midfielder Ramires has just retired from football.

The box to box runner signed for Carlo Ancelotti’s team and was part of the side that won the title that year, and would go on to play an even greater role in the 2012 Champions League win.

As well as just being all over the pitch throughout the knockouts, Ramires also scored one of the most famous goals in the club’s history as he played a 1-2 with Frank Lampard at the Nou Camp, then chipped Victor Valdes to send Chelsea into the final.

The former Corinthians man recently revealed a new tattoo of the moment he chipped the ball in and sent the travelling fans wild.

He follows in the footsteps of Jon Obi Mikel, his fellow hero of the 2012 campaign, who retired yesterday.

We wish the best of luck to them both – True Blues to the core and always welcome at the Bridge.
