MIAMI – The 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup Final saw Cruz Azul win a historic seventh title for the club with contributions from its Game-Changer Ángel Sepúlveda.
The Mexican forward was influential in helping La Máquina claim a dominant 5-nil win against Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Sepúlveda notched a goal in each half as he became the fourth Cruz Azul player to score twice in a Final and the third Mexican player to achieve the feat.
Sepúlveda’s stellar display also helped him claim two individual accolades. The Michoacán native earned the Best Player Award, presented by Scotiabank, and won the Top Goal Scorer Award, presented by Aramco.
The 34-year-old was one of Cruz Azul’s main men throughout the tournament, totaling 11 goal contributions, nine goals and two assists. He contributed to his team’s tally by scoring or assisting in seven of nine matches.
Sepúlveda also had three multi-goal games in the 2025 edition, scoring braces against Real Hope FA in the second leg of Round One, against Club América in the Quarterfinals return fixture, and in the Final against Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
