Ange Postecoglou’s relentless Celtic side have been crowned Scottish champions for the second consecutive season.

The Hoops travelled to Edinburgh on Sunday to face Hearts knowing that a win would be enough to see them retain the title they won in the Aussie’s first season in charge.

And they secured it with a battling win over the 10-man hosts as Kyogo netted his 50th goal for the club late on in the second half before Hyeon-gyu Oh added a second.

It also puts Celtic on the brink of a world record eighth treble. Having already secured the League Cup, they face Championship side Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Cup final in June looking to make it a domestic clean sweep for the season.

The title victory is also the 53rd in club history and they could set more records before the end of the season.

They must win all of their remaining fixtures to set the record for highest points tally in league history to surpass their own 2016/17 Invincibles.

The Bhoys can also set a new benchmark for most goals in a season (which currently stands at 116 and has stood for over a century having been achieved under Willie Maley) and the most victories in a 42-game season (another milestone which has been unbroken for more than 100 years).
