Several Celtic players are being linked with moves away from Parkhead as we get closer to the summer transfer window. Of course, it is part of the model at the club. The Hoops cannot prevent key names from leaving. Last time around, it was Matt O'Riley who joined Brighton & Hove Albion. In the winter, Kyogo passed on the chance to play in the Champions League knockout phase to move to Rennes.
Both O'Riley and Kyogo have struggled badly at their new clubs, though. One would hope that that would cause others to think twice before quitting Celtic and going elsewhere.
Then again, there are some who are very likely to leave, even in the eyes of Brendan Rodgers. One of them is Greg Taylor.
The Scottish left-back has been a key player for Celtic for several years now but has found chances harder to come by since the arrival of Jeffrey Schlupp on loan in the winter. And in the summer. Kieran Tierney will return to Parkhead, having already agreed a pre-contract. That is believed to be the driving factor behind Taylor's potential departure, with his current deal running out at the end of the campaign.
Taylor has been tipped to join a club like Dinamo Zagreb, who incidentally faced Celtic in the Champions League this season. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, Tam McManus told PLZ Soccer:
"He’s at an age now where he has to play every week. He isn’t going to come in and play second fiddle or even third fiddle at Celtic.“I think it would be refreshing for him. There have been a lot of talk about Dinamo Zagreb, the club were looking at him. To go and play in Croatia. It’s something entirely different and he will play every week. Usually in the Champions League."
Someone like Taylor could be a good addition for a club like Dinamo Zagreb. He has top-level experience playing for Celtic, even at the Champions League level, and is in his prime years as a footballer.
There have been some suggestions that Taylor could end up at Ibrox as well. But take them with a grain of salt, as it is hard to imagine he would make that jump.
