Celtic FC Women secure back-to-back Champions League qualification for the first time

Following the results on Sunday afternoon, Celtic FC Women have secured their UEFA Women’s Champions League place in back-to-back seasons for the first time.

Having run out 3-0 winners over Partick Thistle at the Excelsior Stadium, results elsewhere now mean the Hoops are guaranteed a top two finish in the SWPL.

Last campaign, the Celts created history by winning their first ever European tie against Brondby, thanks to a second half Kelly Clark strike.

And now Elena Sadiku’s side will have the opportunity to test themselves on the European stage once more next season.

With just two league games left this campaign, the hard work will continue for Sadiku and her squad though, with the title race coming down to the wire once more.

Two massive matches await the Ghirls, as they take on Hearts this Wednesday, before returning to Celtic Park this coming weekend (Sunday, May 19) against Hibernian, with tickets for that match available to buy online.
