An insight into the plans of Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti to make use of returning defender Éder Militão in the club’s upcoming showdown with Bayern Munich has this weekend been provided.

The info comes courtesy of Diario AS, and points towards Militão being in line to play a central role for Real against the German heavyweights.

Los Blancos, of course, have been pitted against Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

The first leg of the tie is set to play out at the Allianz Arena later this month.

And, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, Militão is expected to feature prominently.

The Brazilian is of course fresh off a long and arduous recovery from an ACL tear suffered all the way back in August of last year.

He has featured off the bench in each of Real’s last three outings, with his contributions in midweek against Man City having proven important en route to his side’s eventual triumph.

And the plan remains the same for Sunday, when Militão, depending on the flow of the clash, has been pencilled in for a substitute role in the latest edition of El Clásico.

This comes with a view to the 26-year-old ramping up his fitness ever further, to at long last slot back into a starting role against the aforementioned Bayern.

Carlo Ancelotti is ready to depend on Militão from the off in Bavaria in a little over a week’s time, most likely in a central defensive role alongside Antonio Rüdiger.

It is also not ruled out, though, that the former Porto man could step in for the suspended Dani Carvajal at right-back.
