Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has on Friday provided an insight into his plans for the returning Éder Militão.

Defender Militão is of course fresh off his comeback from a lengthy spell on the sidelines, with an ACL tear.

After ramping up his recovery efforts over the course of recent weeks, the Brazilian international was afforded his first taste of competitive action since all the way back in August courtesy of an injury-time cameo in Real’s win over Athletic Club on March 31st.

And, just two weeks on, speculation has begun to mount that Militão is in line for his first start in eight months, too.

Los Blancos are primed to face off with RCD Mallorca on Saturday evening, before turning attentions back towards matters on the continent, in the 2nd leg of the club’s Champions League quarter-final tie with Manchester City.

With Aurélien Tchouaméni suspended for the latter outing, it has been suggested that Militão could be made use of from the off at Son Moix, in an effort to build match sharpness for a starting berth at The Etihad.

Speaking to the media on Friday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of precisely as much was put to the aforementioned Carlo Ancelotti.

And, in his response, Real Madrid’s headmaster confirmed his intention to utilise his returning defender for ‘a good part’ of Saturday’s clash with Mallorca, albeit with it currently unclear whether this will come by way of a start, or lengthy showing off the bench:

“Eder Militão? We are evaluating everything but we have to take into account that he feels very good. Of course he can’t play 90 minutes but I think he can play a good part of the game and do it well.”
