What a time Real Madrid and their fans are having! First, they overpowered Manchester City in the penalties in the second leg to advance to the semi-final round of the Champions League. Then they got the better of arch-rivals Barcelona to put the La Liga title race into the coffin.

The Whites are leading the domestic league by 11 points with just six games to go. It’s safe to say that Carlo Ancelotti’s men have done the job. They will next face Real Sociedad in the league this weekend to further solidify their position.

Defence

Andriy Lunin was lucky to be on the winning side against Barcelona despite putting in a below-standard performance. He will be aiming to do better with important games lined up in the coming weeks. Right-back Dani Carvajal, who remained on the bench last week, is expected to return to replace Lucas Vazquez.

Eder Militao should also be starting the game as he has recovered from a knee injury. The Whites will look to prepare him for the Bayern challenge. Expect Nacho to accompany him in the centre of the defence as Antonio Rudiger deserves a rest. Fran Garcia could be called up to operate as the left-back.

Midfield

Aurelien Tchouameni is likely to play in a deeper position in the midfield. Eduardo Camavinga and Luka Modric are the two other midfielders in the lineup. Federico Valverde and Toni Kroos will be rested to keep them fresh for the upcoming ties.

No rest for Jude Bellingham as he continues to play as the attacking midfielder for the team.

Attack

Rodrygo and Vinicius Jr, both worked tirelessly and brought happiness to the club and the fans. These two attackers are supposed to be rested this week.

Joselu and Brahim Diaz should be leading the offensive line against Real Sociedad.
