Cardiff City FC were crowned Genero Adran Premier champions, Wrexham set a new crowd record for a Welsh league game of 9,511.

Cardiff City FC 3-1 The New Saints Swansea City 3-0 Cardiff Met

Cardiff City FC hosted TNS knowing a win would take them over the line; the opening goal was one worthy of taking the title, Ffion Price hitting from just outside the box to drop perfectly into the top corner. Beth Lewis wasn’t going to let Cardiff get their hopes up too soon, as she hit back straight away for the visitors to see the scores level at half time. The Bluebirds came back out with renewed determination and it paid off with captain Siobhan Walsh heading home a second, before stepping up to take the penalty after Lily Billingham was brought down in the box, securing  City the league for the first time in 10 years.

Swansea were determined not to make life easy for Cardiff, knowing that anything less than a win for them would likely hand their crown their South coast rivals. Cardiff Met meanwhile we hoping to bounce back from last week’s disappointment and find the form that had seen them win the Genero Adran Trophy title two weeks ago. Chloe Chivers was the first name on the scoresheet, combining with Ellie Lake to put the hosts ahead. It looked like this could be the only goal of the game, but Nia Rees stepped up eight minutes from time to double the Swans lead. There was still more drama to come as Rees was then taken down in the box, with Meg Saunders converting the subsequent penalty for her first goal in Swansea colours.

Plate Conference

Barry Town United 0-2 Aberystwyth Town Abergavenny 1-5 Pontypridd United

In the Plate conference, the race for the title is still on, with both Ponty and Aberystwyth picking up three points.

Pontypridd were at Abergavenny and hit first with Holly Borad heading home Efa Preece-Jones’ cross, before Carys Bufton fired against the post and in to double the lead. In the second half, Liv Francis added a third before Lauren Boyd pulled one back. Sub Lucy Jones took just eight minutes from coming on to restore Ponty’s four-goal advantage, with Evie Hughes getting the fifth.

Aberystwyth went ahead at Barry with a penalty from Tania Wylde, Kelly Thomas making it 2-0 early in the second half to keep up hopes of the Plate title.

Adran North

Airbus UK Broughton 0-3 Llandudno Rhyl 3-3 Felinheli Wrexham 2-1 Connah’s Quay Nomads

30 March: Llandudno v Connah’s Quay Nomads at Nantporth Stadium, 7.30pm

Wrexham ended their league campaign on a maximum 36 points, TJ Dickens’ free-kick cancelled out by the Nomads’ Ella Harvey, before Rosie Hughes got the decider eight minutes from time.

Adran South

Swansea University 0-1 Pontardawe Town Cascade 6-1 Caldicot Town

Briton Ferry Llansawel secured the Genero Adran South title with a 4-1 victory against Caldicot Town on Tuesday night. Manon Thomas, Fleur Jenkins and Lucy Powell gave the Reds a three-goal lead before Hannah Foulkes scored a penalty on the stroke of half-time to get Caldicot on the board. Briton Ferry’s fourth goal did not arrive until the final 10 minutes through Brooke Llewellyn.
